What does the title, “off grid thoughtfulness” mean? Is there something special when you have an off grid power system that makes being thoughtful different? Yes and no. We all appreciate being appreciated no mater where or how we live, and I want to share something that has been so helpful to Jackie and I personally, and for my business this last year.
How often does this happen?
How many times have you heard of someone’s tragedy or distress and thought, I should call them, or I should write them? However the thought evaporates while you unpack groceries, arrive home, or fix that broken equipment.
Or, what about times you think, oh its someone’s birthday next week, maybe I should send them a card. Well, living off grid in a remote home makes it all too easy to let these fleeting promptings pass by without action. I’m sure we could say something similar for you, whatever your situation.
There’s always some ‘excuse’ that seems reasonable, so that some of the good things we’d like to do never happen!
We end up being better people in our own heads, than in actions way more often than anyone wants to admit.
What to do?
I’ve found an online system that allows me to send personalized greeting cards in my own handwriting with my own pictures online. I’ve finally purchased a product that makes me feel good every time I use it! This isn’t something that I found so many uses for in so many ways, that I know some of our readers would love to hear about it.
I use it for my business too. Whenever we sign up a new customer, part of the process involves sending them a thank you card, that has a little Starbucks gift card included! This has been a real hit and makes the right impression on new customers. It says we’re different in a good way.
Wait a minute, I’ll grab a copy of a few of the cards we’ve sent and paste it below… Click on images to see full size.
There, you see? We can upload our own high quality pictures, and little thought bubbles and all kinds of creative things! Personally, I only scratch the surface of what’s possible, because I just use it as a tool to be thoughtful and act on the good things I want to say, to encourage others.
Here’s a great offer
I have arranged to get you a sample account on this system that will allow you to send 3 cards as a guest on my account. I’ve been using this system for a year now, and I’m sure you will find it quite useful too. I’m so confident about this that I’ve paid for you to try this out! With this trial account you will be able to create picture cards with your own photos and everything. Here’s what to do:
- Click on the image below with my silly birthday picture below.

- Click on free trial
- Fill out the details to create your own guest account on my nickle
- Watch the walk through and send 2 cards! You can even upload your own pictures for these guest cards. You have 2 weeks before your guest account expires.
When was the last time you received a card, birthday, thank you, or encouragement from someone unexpected? Think about it. How did it make you feel? Tell us about it below in the comments!

I’ve learned that people yearn to be recognized and appreciated. The little words “thank you” can go a long way not only as motivation or encouragement but also for appreciation and gratitude. There was a long stage in my life where I felt I had no sense of self-worth after I was left paralyzed from the neck down. The lesson I learned was that you don’t need hands to reach out and touch another person’s heart.
I’m so glad I found your blog. Very inspiring!

Tracy, thanks for stopping by. You naturally feel better about things when you meet others basic need for significance, our need to be known and needed.
